BPA Free

BPA (Bisphenol A) is a chemical substance the production of which dates back to the 60s and is widely used in all industrialised countries as an additive for plastics and resins. BPA is also used in food containers as a protective coating due to its transparency and thermal resistance properties. Recent research (the European Chemicals Agency has also recognised the potential hazard of BPA) has highlighted the human health risks caused by exposure to BPA. Therefore, use of this substance has been heavily restricted and containers with external labels indicating its absence in the packaging have now appeared on the market.
